Anatomical breakdown of the figure. Working with shadow and value

Here’s that same multi-part series where we first do a detailed anatomical breakdown of the male figure from the back and then draw it :)

In this fourth part we focus on shadow — bringing out the forms and the volume. Remember: if you don’t push the shadow far enough and drift into halftones, the drawing falls apart. Once the shadow edge is more or less right, we close in the halftone.
