Value layout in the female figure

Hi, friends!

Today we’re going to practice the value layout in the female figure — an important skill that takes not only a delicate touch but an understanding of form. That’s why in the video lesson I’ll show the construction of some of the forms, so it’s clearer to you why the value falls the way it does.

I’m attaching a PNG file you can load into Procreate or Photoshop, lock the transparent pixels on the layer, and get straight to value on ready-made silhouettes. If you want a harder task, try changing the lighting to side lighting or lighting from below.
