As I already said, we’re moving from drawing the lady’s portrait to drawing her figure. We’ll start with a graphic treatment.

In this drawing the emphasis is on the graphic side (the hatching) and on the structural nodes: the portrait, the hand, the ribcage, and the pelvis. You don’t need to work the value relationships hard in this assignment — a good silhouette and expressive linework are enough.
