Marathon week 8. Color perception and emotion. Color and the psychology of perception

Every artist cares how viewers read their work. And the better an artist understands the rules of color perception, the easier it is to get the message across. This week we’ll talk about how color affects the image, how to charge a piece with particular emotions and how to push that as far as it will go.

Marathon week 7: "States of nature and atmospheric effects"

This week we’ll study color through the states of nature. We’ll come to understand how the color of day differs from the color of evening. The state of rain from the state of fog. We’ll learn how light works on a clear, fine day, and what kind of atmosphere fog creates. Come to the stream, it’ll be interesting and instructive!

All right, dear friends! This week we’ll talk about how light affects the color of an object, how to keep the colors from looking muddy, and what colors the highlight, the light, the halftone, the core shadow and the cast shadow should be!
